Our Story

In 1984, Lindsay and Devra Walker moved to Statesboro, Georgia, to build a pharmacy. Not a chain. Not a franchise. A neighborhood pharmacy where they'd know every patient by name.

Their first day, they filled 8 prescriptions.

Eight.

But what they lacked in volume they made up for in time — time to talk, time to listen, time to actually care about the person standing across the counter. That became the foundation of everything Walker would become: take care of every customer like family.

Little Doses

By the early '90s, Statesboro had lost its last children's clothing store. The Walkers had just had their second child and felt that hole in the community personally.

So they did what any entrepreneur does when they see a need — they built an addition onto the pharmacy and opened Little Doses — a children's boutique carrying the kind of quality, thoughtfully chosen pieces that families in our area couldn't find anywhere else.

That store has been open for over 30 years now. Babies who wore Little Doses onesies are buying clothes for their own kids there today.

Walker Boutique

Over the years, we sold a little bit of everything in the pharmacy. Greeting cards to concert tickets. Jewelry to gifts. In 2009, noticing a lack of affordable, trendy women's apparel in Statesboro, Devra started going to Apparel Markets in addition to the Gift Marts they were already attending to shop for the pharmacy and gift store. It was a hit!

In 2012, we opened our flagship Pharmacy and Boutique in the Market District in Statesboro to make room for the huge demand the Boutique was creating. The new 8,000 square foot facility made room for expanded dressing rooms, a full jewelry section, Baby and Wedding Registry, and Home Decor.

Walker Boutique quickly cemented itself as one of the premier boutique shopping experiences in the Southeast.

What We Lost

In 2017, our business and family lost Devra, suddenly and unexpectedly. She was the heart of our retail operation — the one who made Little Doses and Walker Boutique what it was, who knew every vendor, who could walk through a market and spot exactly what Statesboro needed.

Losing her left a hole that no business plan could fill. But it also clarified something for our family: what she built mattered, and letting it fade wasn't an option.

Second Generation

In 2020, Lindsay and Devra's son Jordan took over the Pharmacy business. Struggling to wrap his arms around the Retail Boutique business, his wife Kelcie — Mom of 3 at the time, now Mom of 4 — left her career as an Occupational Therapist to help run Walker Boutique.

Along with an awesome management team, Kelcie helped to clean up inventory, re-establish Little Doses as the go-to Children's Boutique in Statesboro, and expanded key areas like Jewelry and the Gift Registries.

Kelcie and Jordan are five years in to their stewardship over this 40+ year old family business and love providing premium products and services to everyone who walks through the doors... Or shops online!

What Walker Is Today

We fill over 200,000 prescriptions a year across four pharmacy locations. Walker Boutique served nearly 10,000 customers last year. Little Doses is still the children's destination for families across Southeast Georgia.

Under one roof in Statesboro, you can fill a prescription, find an Easter dress, pick out a Kendra Scott necklace, grab a gift for a friend, outfit your kids, and set the most beautiful table in your neighborhood — all in the same trip. There is no other place in this area that can say that.

Our team works every day by a set of values we call The Walker Way: uncompromising integrity, superior service, continuous improvement, empowered initiative, disciplined growth, and enduring legacy. Those aren't just words on a wall. They're what we talk about in every staff meeting, what we coach to, and what we hold ourselves accountable to.

From Our Family to Yours

Today, we are raising our four kids right here in Statesboro. They run around the store. They know the staff by name. They're growing up in the same community we serve — the same community my parents chose over 40 years ago.

We don't take that for granted.

Whether you're a longtime customer who remembers my mom behind the counter, a Georgia Southern student discovering us for the first time, or someone shopping our website from across the state — thank you. Every purchase, every prescription, every visit matters to us. Not to a corporation. To our family.

Come see us. We'd love to help you find something perfect.
